Mealtime at Boca Sombrero

The conch shell is blown and the buffet set, signaling meal time at Boca Sombrero.  Meals are served in our Casa Grande, a beautiful open air, grass roof rancho.  Guests serve themselves from the buffet and dine together at a large hardwood table.  It is a lovely setting and ideal for groups to enjoy a family style meal together.

Lily, our head chef, has years of experience working with yoga retreats.  She does an excellent job utilizing local ingredients, and understands that yogis enjoy fresh, healthy meals.

For each yoga retreat we host, we serve 4 meals per day; surely a highlight for many retreat goers as the meals are incredible.  The day begins early with sunrise coffee, tea, homemade granola, homemade yogurt, and a variety of tropical fruits.  A nice way to fuel the body before a morning yoga session.  Mid-morning we serve brunch.  This meal consists of fresh baked bread, gallo pinto, an egg dish, roasted vegetables, and fruit.  Lunch is light and served around 1:30pm.  We typically serve soup, salad, rice, beans, and fruit for this meal.  The final meal of the day takes you on a trip around the world.  Each night features a different cuisine.  Latin, Italian, Thai, Mediterranean, Indian, and Middle Eastern are some of the themes you will encounter throughout the week.  The evening is topped off with a scrumptious dessert.

Our chef is capable of accommodating dietary needs, as well as food allergies.  Because we serve buffet style, so we are able to cater to vegetarian, gluten free, and dairy free diets each meal.  If you have a food allergy, we ask that you speak directly with the chef, so you can communicate your needs.

We hope that you enjoy the meals you share with us.  Buen Provecho!
